Analisis Perbandingan Throughput Pada Operator Jaringan GSM Di Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto

Dengan adanya kualitas internet yang bagus maka hal ini dapat membantu dan menunjang sarana pra-sarana dalam mengolah data dan bertukar informasi. Salah satunya yaitu di Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, adalah salah satu perguruan tinggi muhammadiyah di Purwokerto yang menggunakan layanan jaringan internet untuk menunjang berlangsungnya proses kegiatan akademik. Karena pada saat ini jaringan internet sangat di perlukan oleh mahasiswa, dosen, ataupun karyawan di Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. Global System for Mobile (GSM) adalah standar sistem seluler generasi kedua yang dikembangkan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan fragmentasi pada standar sistem seluler pertama di Eropa, dan menjadi sistem seluler pertama yang menggunakan teknik modulasi digital dan menggunakan arsitektur layanan bertingkat. Area jaringan GSM berdasarkan area geografi yang meliputi area sel, area lokasi (AL), area layanan MSC/VLR, dan area Public Location Mobile Network (PLMN). Sel adalah area jaringan radio yang diberikan oleh satu base transceiver station. Masing-masing sel tersebut diidentifikasi melalui nomor Cell Global Identity (CGI) yang diidentifikasikan pada masing-masing cell. Sedangkan area lokasi (AL) adalah kumpulan dari beberapa sel Dalam penelitian ini akan menganalisa perbandingan kecepatan throughput pada jaringan GSM untuk menentukan kualitas layanan internet mana yang memiliki akses tercepat di lingkugan Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. Serta akan dilakukan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji ANOVA unuk menganalisis data hasil penelitian. Berdasarkan pengujian yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa provider Telkomsel memiliki kecepatan download terbesar yaitu 7373.026645333334 bit/s. Sementara itu provider Indosat memiliki kecepatan upload terbesar yaitu dengan nilai sebesar 119662.533202666640 bit/s.

ABSTRACT
With the good quality of the internet, this can help and support the pre-facilities in processing data and exchanging information. One of them is at Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto, is one of the Muhammadiyah universities in Purwokerto that uses internet network services to support the ongoing process of academic activities. Because at this time the internet network is very needed by students, lecturers, or employees at Muhammadiyah University Purwokerto. Global System for Mobile (GSM) is a second generation cellular system standard developed to solve fragmentation problems in the first cellular system standard in Europe, and became the first cellular system to use digital modulation techniques and use multilevel service architecture. GSM network area based on geographic area which includes cell area, location area (AL), MSC / VLR service area, and Public Location Mobile Network (PLMN) area. Cells are an area of radio networks provided by one base transceiver station. Each of these cells is identified through the Cell Global Identity (CGI) number identified in each cell. Whereas the location area (AL) is a collection of several cells. In this study, we will analyze the comparison of the throughput speed on the GSM network to determine which internet service quality has the fastest access in the Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto neighborhood. As well as normality test, homogeneity test and ANOVA test to analyze the research data. Based on the tests that have been carried out, it can be seen that the Telkomsel provider has the largest download speed of 7373.026645333334 bit / s. Meanwhile the Indosat provider has the largest upload speed with a value of 119662.533202666640 bit / s.
